What is the effect of Olprinone (OLP) on pro-inflammatory cytokines and chemokines in the liver?
Label:chem
Topic
Pro-inflammatory cytokines and chemokines play a critical role in the progression of liver injury after hepatectomy and endotoxin exposure.
Answer
Olprinone (OLP) significantly decreased the mRNA expression of pro-inflammatory cytokines such as tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α), interleukin-6 (IL-6), and C-X-C motif chemokine ligand 1 (CXCL1) in the livers of rats treated with partial hepatectomy and LPS. Additionally, OLP reduced serum levels of TNF-α, IL-6, and IL-1β, indicating its ability to suppress the transcription of these inflammatory mediators through the inhibition of NF-κB activation.
