What toxicological liabilities are predicted for CGA and CA?

Label:chem

Topic
Pre-clinical safety profiling identifies organ-specific toxicities and LD50 to guide safe dosing ranges.
Answer
LD50 values (oral, rat) are high: CGA 5000 mg kg⁻¹ and CA 1850 mg kg⁻¹. CGA shows no hepatotoxicity, cardiotoxicity, cytotoxicity or mutagenicity, but exhibits mild nephrotoxicity, pulmonary and immunotoxic potential. CA displays neurotoxicity, cardiotoxicity and mutagenicity alerts, although in vitro cytotoxicity is absent. Overall, both compounds appear relatively safe at anticipated therapeutic exposures.
