What are the common adverse events associated with TAK-285 treatment?
Label:chem
Topic
Adverse events (AEs) are important to monitor in clinical trials to assess the safety and tolerability of new drugs. TAK-285 was evaluated for its safety profile in a phase I study.
Answer
The most common AEs related to TAK-285 treatment were increased alanine aminotransferase (ALT) and aspartate aminotransferase (AST), followed by rash, increased blood bilirubin, and diarrhea. These AEs were generally grade 2 or lower, with only two patients experiencing grade 3 AEs (increased ALT and AST, and decreased appetite). No grade 4 AEs related to TAK-285 administration were observed. The incidences of AEs appeared to correlate with dose, though this relationship could not be confirmed due to the limited number of patients studied.
