What are the kinetic properties of deoxyguanosine (dG) and entecavir (ETV) phosphorylation by deoxyguanosine kinase (dGK)?
Label:chem
Topic
A study examines the kinetic properties of dG and ETV phosphorylation by dGK to understand their interactions and inhibition mechanisms.
Answer
The Km values for dG and ETV phosphorylation by dGK are 0.72 ± 0.09 μM and 0.77 ± 0.62 μM, respectively. The Vmax values are 101 ± 5 pmol/mg protein/hr for dG and 7.1 ± 2.2 pmol/mg protein/hr for ETV. These data indicate that dG and ETV bind with similar affinity to dGK, but ETV phosphorylation is less efficient than dG phosphorylation.
