What is Gonadorelin and its mechanism of action?

Label:chem

Topic
Compound: Gonadorelin
Answer
Gonadorelin is a synthetic decapeptide gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH). It is indicated for increasing the functional capacity and response of the gonadotropes of the anterior pituitary and for increasing residual gonadotropic function of the pituitary after removal of a pituitary tumor. Gonadorelin has agonist action on both gonadotropin-releasing hormone receptor and putative gonadotropin-releasing hormone II receptor, thus potentially having an inhibiting effect on COVID-19 protease, with a ligand protein interaction score of 6.7 kcal/mol. Its dock score was 6.7.
