At what voltage does 4-Bromoanisole (4BA) electropolymerize, and what is the effect of this electropolymerization?
Label:chem
Topic
To investigates the overcharge protection capabilities of 4BA.
Answer
4-Bromoanisole (4BA) can be effectively electropolymerized at 4.45 V (vs. Li/Li+ ), which consumes the overcharge current and protects the working electrode from voltage runaway. This electropolymerized film also blocks the insertion of Li-ions into the NCM 622 electrode, deactivating its surface for lithium insertion reactions at potentials above 4.2 V.
