Palladium acetate is a chemical compound of palladium. It is used as a catalyst for many organic reactions and as a precursor to other palladium(II) compounds. It has now been found that palladium diacetate can be prepared in crystalline form free of undesired contaminants such as palladium hydroxy acetate by reaction of specially prepared hydrous palladium oxide (referred to hereinafter as HPO).
